Parquet floors are very durable and can last for years. To keep your parquet floor beautiful for as long as possible, it is advisable, depending on how intensively the floor is used, to have it sanded once every 6-8 years.

 

The top layer of your floor is sanded down, removing all oil, lacquer or other after-treatments. Damages such as dents and scratches, water spots and scuffs will be sanded out. Color differences due to sunlight, for example, will disappear.

 

Our experienced parquet installers work with machines that sand dust-free. Our working method ensures optimal results. We use multiple sanding cycles, different grains of sandpaper and we work with the best machines.

 

After the parquet floor has been sanded completely clear, it is treated with an oil or lacquer of your choice. You can choose to apply the same treatment to the floor again, but you can also choose to give the floor a completely different look. When we visit you for a consultation, we will discuss the various options with you.

It also depends on the type of wood which post-treatment can be done.

 

 

Treat your floor with oil

We use the Rubio Monocoat oils, which are available in many different colors. So there is something for everyone.

The advantages of this oil are that it penetrates deep into the wood, giving the wood good protection. An oiled floor has a matte natural appearance. The oil dries fairly quickly and you can get back on your floor within a few days.

 

An oiled floor needs good maintenance to keep it beautiful for as long as possible. Vacuum or sweep the floor enough to remove dirt and sand as quickly as possible. Depending on the intensity of use of the floor, it should be cleaned with the accompanying products.

 

 

Treat your floor with lacquer

We use the Rigostep Skylt paint. This water-based lacquer is applied in two layers. This lacquer forms a good protective layer and is completely sealed against moisture and dirt. Like the oil, lacquer also has various colors with both a matte and glossy finish. A disadvantage is that a lacquered floor is not so easy to touch up after damage.
